Missus Beeton (11/2) today followed brother Mister Beeton in registering a win, landing the Tote.ie Handicap Hurdle for the siblings' same connections - trainer Shane Nolan and owner/breeder John Clarke.
Dual winner Mister Beeton won in 2022 and '23 and today year-younger sister Missus Beeton arrived from mid-field to eventually lead on the run-in, scoring a maiden success under jockey Shane Fitzgerald.
Just three-parts-of-a-length separated Missus Beeton and Phoenix Cowboy with the 18/1 runner-up denying trainer Shark Hanlon a noteworthy big-priced treble - having earlier won with Half A Chance at 25/1, and 11/1 chance Seasett
Following the race, trainer Nolan said “that was great as John (Clarke) and Kieran (Corrigan, part-owner) have been patient with her and it's a pity they couldn't be here today.
“We also have her full-brother Mister Beeton who has won two races and while this mare hasn't much size, she has plenty of heart and jumps well.
“Her maiden form was good so I thought, off her mark, she should win. They aren't going far into the ground today but she has form on softish ground. She might win another one hopefully.”
