Maarek at home over flying five
Maarek looks to have found his true calling after opening his account on his first start over the minimum trip at Navan this afternoon.
David Nagle 's charge, who had been tried over as far as a mile-and-a-half, relished the five furlongs.
Wayne Lordan tracked the leaders before sending his mount to the front at the furlong pole int he 47-70 handicap.
He kept on strongly for a length-and-three-quarters success over Master Melody
"He did it well and will hopfully improve off that. That's his trip," said Fethard based Nagle, who was saddling his second winner.
