"He looks like a nice horse. He was beaten by A Genie In Abottle in his point-to-point. We got him and then this fella (from the Denis Murphy yard)," said Noel Meade after Black Ace (6/4 joint favourite) took the concluding www.kilbegganraces.com (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race in the hands of Nina Carberry.
Carberry led on the son of Yeats two furlongs out and he was soon ridden clear to beat Lion In His Heart by three lengths. The other market-leader, Carrig Cathal was three parts of a length back in third.
"It has just taken him a while but he's getting there. I'd say he has a good engine," added Meade.
"I'm not sure he would handle very heavy ground and we might just keep him going. I'll chat to the owner.
"Nina said he has loads of toe and was always going easy. I'm not sure how strong the race was but Gordon's horse (Carrig Cathal) was well fancied."
