Loudest Whisper gains first Flat win under Sheridan

Loudest Whisper (9/2 jt fav) had been out of the first three just once in eight starts, Flat and hurdles, since the resumption of racing in June and she enjoyed the ease in the ground when taking the Dunboyne Castle Hotel Handicap.
Joey Sheridan was riding the Maxios mare for the first time and the 5lbs claimer, gearing up for his Group One ride on Princess Zoe this weekend in the Prix du Cadran, gave his mount a patient steer.
Hitting the front over a furlong out, the winner went on to beat Franno (14/1) by a length and a half, with Flindt (10/1) another length away in third.
The other 9/2 joint favourite Pure Nature finished back in twelfth place.
It was a breakthrough win on the Flat for the diminutive Loudest Whisper on her 24th run in this discipline, and she had won for the first time over hurdles at the Galway Festival in July.
Alan Delany, assistant to his father and winning trainer Eamonn, said: “She’s as tough as old nails. We got her conditions today as she likes a big galloping track and the ground.
“I don’t think she’s been out of the money at all this year. We might go back to Galway at the bank holiday weekend as she likes it around there.”
