London Bridge wins opener
The Noel Meade trained London Bridge under Paul Carberry, ran out the length winner of the Jogforjockeys.ie Maiden Hurdle at Bellewstown this evening, but had to overcome a Stewards’ Enquiry before securing the race.
The Stewards enquired into an incident at the third last flight where Carberry squeezed London Bridge through on the inside, and narrowly avoided being run-out by Another Gear The Stewards subsequently took no action.
Afterwards owner Robert Bagnall, who also owns Pandorama, stated “Noel (Meade) is on holidays in Dingle but I spoke to him on the phone and he expected him to win. When Noel expects them to win they usually do!”
