The dark blue colours of Sue Magnier are normally to the fore at the likes of the Curragh and Newmarket but Lockstockandbarrel looks a nice jumping prospect for connections after making an impressive jumping debut in the thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle.
Placed on both bumper outings last season including when runner-up to Vigil at Leopardstown, the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old gave those who supported him into 11/10 favourite few worries.
The Flemensfirth gelding jumped well and was prominent throughout for Ruby Walsh, drawing clear after two out for an easy nine lengths victory. Captain Hox filled the runner-up spot, with Winter Breeze a further length and a quarter back in third.
Walsh said, "He was a little bit green in front but jumped super and on his bumper form, was good enough to win.
"I wouldn't mind being light enough to ride more in these colours!"
