Placed on both bumper outings last season including when runner-up to Vigil at Leopardstown, the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old gave those who supported him into 11/10 favourite few worries.

The Flemensfirth gelding jumped well and was prominent throughout for Ruby Walsh, drawing clear after two out for an easy nine lengths victory. Captain Hox filled the runner-up spot, with Winter Breeze a further length and a quarter back in third.

Walsh said, "He was a little bit green in front but jumped super and on his bumper form, was good enough to win.

"I wouldn't mind being light enough to ride more in these colours!"
