Letter Of Credit the outsider of the four strong field for Glen Chase, landed the spoils under Phillip Enright for Jimmy Mangan, in what was a dramatic contest,

The eight-year-old son of Bob Back, who was without a win in twelve previous attempts over fences, was sent off at 13/2, after he finished fifth to Gentleman Duke over the course on his last start (Sitcom, the winner of the opener, was fourth in that race).

Settled in last, the No Credit Syndicate (Galway based grouping) owned gelding, was still in rear as his three rivals took each other on four out.

The trio continued to battle for the lead at the third last, but Canaly crashed out there, and hampered rival Tinakellylad

This left Make A Track the 4/7 favourite, in front, but Letter Of Credit closed up on him approaching the straight, and he travelled best on the run to two out.

Make A Track, under Andrew Lynch for Charlie Swan, responded well to pressure, and he remained in the lead at the last, but once Phillip Enright got serious aboard the winner, he soon hit the front, and he was driven out on the run-in to score by half a length.

Jimmy Mangan said afterwards: "It looks like he wants a trip (first time to try three miles over fences).

"His jumping can be in and out, although he was a bit better today with the small field which gave him plenty of space. Phillip said that he met the last four spot on.

"He might go to Limerick at Christmas. We will stay away from the tracks with the bigger fences."
