Connor King rode out his claim with a success on Daliyan in the Join Us September 20th Handicap at Gowran.
"I'm delighted to have lost the claim. That'll help me to do some light weights now, with about eight ten being my lowest," said King.
"Hopefully that'll open up a few more options."
King had teamed up with his fellow Cork man, Rodger Sweeney, to take the spoils on 8/1 shot Daliyan.
Having chased the leaders Daliyan stayed on well in the final furlong to lead close home, for a half length win over Could Would Should.
The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after turning into the home straight involving Specific Gravity (FR), ridden by D. O'Brien, Glassatura ridden by S. Foley, and Swordfight ridden by W.M. Lordan, where it appeared Specific Gravity ran short of room and had to check.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Michael O'Callaghan, trainer, representing A.P.O'Brien, trainer and master of D. O'Brien. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion the interference was caused accidentally and they took no further action.
P.J. Smullen, rider of Koybig trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left in the closing stages.
