Acclamatio ended a quiet spell for trainer Tony Martin in some style when running away with the extended mile and three handicap at Killarney.
The Acclamation gelding made good headway to come through and lead inside the final furlong. He soon shot clear under Colin Keane and powered home by three lengths at 33/1.
This was his first start for 221 days and he hadn't been placed in five previous appearances.
He gave Keane a 118/1 double on the card as the jockey also took the opener on 5/2 favourite Artistic Melody
"He's motoring away nicely and we were hoping for the best. He was showing plenty this year and improved a lot from last year," Tony Martin said.
"The step up in trip might have helped but he improved a sight since last year. He's a grand horse and was just immature and weak last year.
"We'll take him home and see how he is before making a plan."
