On outing two for Willie Mullins Getaway Katie ran out a well-backed winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
The Charles Clarke owned and bred six-year-old ran fifth in a Killarney bumper 29 days back on debut for Closutton.
That was off a 662 day absence from action, and she was supported from 7/2 into 5/2 favourite to come on for the run, back at the jumping game.
Rider of seven length second Fort Worth Texas Barry O’Neill, reported that his saddle slipped halfway through the race.
Getaway Katie tracked the leaders, and she made headway into second two out.
Soon in front, the daughter of Getaway was pushed along and was clear at the last.
She stayed on well on the run-in to easily prevail.
“She was fit and ready after her run in Killarney and she had the (jumping) experience,” said Townend.
