Kalann topped off a super weekend for Sabrina Harty when delivering in the two mile handicap at the Curragh. The Co Kildare trainer was in Goodwood saddling Ansgar to win the Group 3 Doom Bar Supreme Stakes today. Yesterday she enjoyed success with Breathe Easy at the Curragh.
The seven-year-old son of Barathea pressed the leader Giant’s Quest over two furlongs out and saw him off with a furlong and a half left. Leigh Roche kept him up to his work as he won by a length and a quarter at 16/1.
Giant’s Quest rallied and kept on for second at 7/1 while Primogeniture (10/1) stayed on nicely for third. He was beaten four and a quarter lengths by the winner.
Jockey Leigh Roche said: “He was getting caught for toe a bit over a mile and a half and a mile and six so the two miles was ideal. They went a nice gallop and he travelled well. I got after him early as I knew he would stay and it paid off.”
