We had a second stylish winning favourite in as many races at Roscommon with Johnny Drama (5/4 into 10/11) taking the Knockcroghery Handicap for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane.
It was looking good for the Lilbourne Lad gelding, a winner on his previous start on April 9th at Gowran, from some way out.
He eventually got it done by seven lengths from Charcor
Lyons' brother Shane said afterwards: “Full credit to Roscommon as the track is in fantastic order. The cover of grass is exceptional.
“We were very worried about the ground as he’s a big horse with a big knee action. We felt he’d want it easier but Colin said it was lovely ground.
“He obviously wants further but put that to bed very early. He works as well as anything at home, and it’s exciting times for him. We’ve had to be very patient with him, and hopefully he’s going to pay us back.”
