Johann Bach has been a good servant for Patrick Harney and he landed his sixth race today when taking the New BBQ Evening Format At Naas Handicap under Gary Halpin.
The Oratorio gelding soon chased the leaders in third place and he was ridden to challenge a furlong and a half out.
After leading a furlong out the 10/1 winner Johann Bach kept on well in the final furlong to defeat Duchess Andorra by a length and a half.
Gambled-on favourite Unyielding could manage no better than fourth.
Harney said: "Gary gave him a great ride. He came on a lot from his last run, which was a good one but he needed it, and I was fairly confident coming here today.
"We'll look at a premier handicap now maybe at the Curragh on Derby weekend, or the mile race at Galway."
Meanwhile for his part Halpin remarked: "He was fresh and keen but is an uncomplicated ride and very genuine."
C.D. Hayes, rider of I'll Be Your Clown trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered shortly after leaving stalls.
