The incident-packed Tote European Breeders Fund Mares Handicap Hurdle at Galway today saw three separate incidents involving five fallers which resulted in injuries to three jockeys.
Each of the five jockeys of Flaviana Sweet Cherry Elusive Ivy Crystal Pearl and The Conker Club were able to walk away but Robbie Power (Flaviana) suffered a suspected fractured cheek bone, Conor Maxwell (Sweet Cherry) suffered a broken nose while Davy Russell (Crystal Pearl), who did ride in the next race, will not take his ride in the later Galway Plate as he is suffering lower back pain.
