Having been beaten only a head and a neck on his previous two visits to Dundlak, the 5/2 favourite Hurricane Alex got his turn in the Lengthen The Odds With BetVictor Handicap.
The Denis Hogan-trained gelding had to overcome some interference halfway down the straight before coming through to fight out the finish with Newgirlintown (8/1) and Sam Missile (17/2).
Daniel King ’s mount battled on well to beat that pair by a head and a nose.
It was a third win in his last eight rides at Dundalk for 16-year-old King who said: “He’s been second here the last two runs so it’s nice to get his head in front today.
“I’m getting a good few rides and hopefully we can keep the ball rolling into the winter months.”
