Heskin bullies Lucy into winning
Ragtime Lucy might have a mind of her own but in the words of her owner /trainer and breeder, Maura McGuinness, Adrian Heskin "bullied her into winning" the ITBA Supporting Gowran Park Racecourse Handicap Hurdle at Gowran.
The daughter of Luso has been trying to win a race since October 2007 and here Heskin led on the 16/1 shot entering the straight and she wasn't all out at the finish to beat Oh Johnny by a length and three parts.
Miss McGuinness commented: "I bred the dam and the grand-dam and this one herself is a half-sister to Justified. She has plenty of scope and she'll jump fences in time. We have 15 in at the moment."
