Heck of a debut win!

The concluding Stars Of Tomorrow Bumper, for newcomers, at Punchestown today went to the Noel Meade trained Heck Thomas who readily justified his place as favourite (5/6), under Nina Carberry.
Carberry moved the four year old son of Oscar to the front early in the straight and from there the gelding kept going for an easy win over Feast Of Fire
Afterwards Meade stated “we thought he'd win and he did so that's grand! He did a bit (of work) last spring so we had a good idea he was pretty useful.
“He'll go jumping straightaway and he has schooled well. Nina said he stayed really well, and his pedigree would suggest that but he is not short of boot either.
“He was a very hard horse to break and took three months to get up on him - that's not a bad sign though as it shows that they have a bit of fight in them!”
