Baily Green for Mouse Morris and David Casey replicated his course and distance win last month in his Beginners Chase, as he made all again this evening to win the Dermot Hughes Toyota Car Sales Novice Chase in convincing fashion.
The 6yo son of King's Theatre has been on the go since last October and has run in two Grade 1 contests in that time but is clearly only coming into himself now, as he recorded his second successive victory.
Sent off the 10/3 second favourite he soon took up the lead and went clear from the fourth with the 5/4 favourite Absolutyfantastic settling in second under Davy Russell.
From four out Baily Green was in control and he kept on well up the home straight and despite hitting the last he still scored comfortably by four lengths. Galloping Gander (12/1) under Sean McDermott kept on to take second while Absolutyfantastic was third, a further length and three parts back.
Winning rider David Casey said afterwards: "He jumped very well. He was good and fresh today.
"He is such a good jumper and it’s a big help around here as he was gaining lengths at every fence. He is progressing well.”
