Gilligan & Hillingdon back in the Winners Enclosure
Lady Hillingdon was back to her winning ways when coming home in front of the McSweeney Arms Hotel Mares Beginners Chase for trainer Paul Gilligan.
Andrew Lynch who was doing the steering was in front after the third last and the seven year old battled well on the run-in when strongly pressed by Watermelon and Sean Flanagan.
A relieved Gilligan said afterwards: “It’s nice to be back in the winner’s enclosure and it’s great to get the win out of her.”
“I have no real plans for her. She’s very tough and she just does enough when she’s in front.”
The 100/30 favourite Guzzle And Go fell at the first flight, jockey Andrew McNamara was fine but unfortunately it was a fatal fall for the horse.
