Fred Archer makes it a winning debut
Dave Marnane recorded his first winner for Sheikh Mohammed when Fred Archer made it a winning debut to take the Tattersalls EBF (C&G) Maiden.
Connections had to survive a Stewards Enquiry when the winner slightly hampered runner-up Eagle Canyon close home.
Colm O’Donoghue who took the riding honours took up the lead a furlong and a half out and kept on well despite drifting left close home to record a length three and parts victory over Eagle Canyon.
Winning trainer Marnane said afterwards: “I have two horses in training for Sheikh Mohammed and he was a great owner to get.”
“I think the horse was very impressive today and he quickened up very well. His sire Iffraaj is having some season and they generally improve from their first run.”
