Forever Gold delivered a performance that many suspected was always in him when easily landing the Dunsany Handicap Hurdle at Navan.
Previously successful in a point-to-point, and a Roscommon handicap chase, from twenty two outings, here the Gold Well gelding arrived with his challenge going well in the hands of Davy Russell.
The well-backed 9/2 favourite was clear from two out on the way to an eleven length verdict over I Shot The Sheriff
Successful owner/trainer/breeder Eddie Cawley said: "He'd a fall over fences at Fairyhouse last month and that's a nice confidence booster. If he gets into it he could come back here next month for the good novice handicap chase."
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Groody Hill trained by C.Roche, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.
Michael O'Hare, trainer of Montana Slim reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to be lame post race
