Fen back in the Game
The Edward O’Grady trained Fen Game was back to his winning ways after he landed the Paddy Fitzpatrick Memorial Hurdle under a strong ride from Andrew McNamara.
McNamara settled the Montjeu gelding in behind the leaders and made his progress approaching the straight.
The pair kept on well to lead on the run-in and deny the Tony Martin trained Save The Bacon by a length.
O’Grady stated afterwards: “We had a tongue tie on him today for precautionary purposes I don’t know how much of a difference it made today.”
“He will probably have another couple of runs over hurdles before we send him over fences. We’d probably be aswell off to wait till next season before we go chasing.”
“I think he really deserved that win and hopefully that has broken the ice for him and we can pick up another one.”
