Following on from Love’s 1000 Guineas win, and a double at Naas yesterday, Ballydoyle kept up the good work at Leopardstown with Ennistymon rsquo;s success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
Like the Aidan O’Brien victors less than 24 hours earlier, Ennistymon was ridden by Seamie Heffernan, and the 11/8 market-leader fought off Shamiyna by a head. Astadash (100/1) stormed home for third, half a length back.
“She had a lovely run last year at the Curragh when I got no run on her,” said Heffernan.
“Ideally I would have liked a bit of cover but I won well at the line. She idled a little bit in front.
“She could make up into a smart filly.”
