The Four Elms made a successful switch back to the level when running out a ready winner of the 1m3f handicap at Limerick.
John Joe Walsh's charge had scored over hurdles at the venue ten days ago and was well supported to follow up (14/1 in morning into 6/1).
He claimed front-runner Wrekin Rock who was second to him over hurdles last time, a furlong-and-a-half out and stayed on strongly in the closing stages.
The Desert Style gelding posted a two-and-three-quarter length sucess over East Of Tara who ran on inside the final furlong to claim second, having plotted a brave route up the rail.
The hat-trick seeking runner-up had been sent off 5/4 favourite as she was 10lb well in compared to her future rating.
"He likes soft ground and would prefer it softer than that," said Walsh of the winner.
"He stays well and will mix it between the flat and hurdles but he won't run until there is an ease in the ground again."
It was a double on the card for Chris Hayes, who had also been on board another gamble, Bankroll earlier.
