Easy to back 16/1 chance Braeside kept up the good work in October for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy, on the final day of the month, when running out a convincing winner in the Grade B Paddy Power Cork Grand National Handicap Chase.
Not seen since a beaten favourite at Fairyhouse 265 days back, Braeside was never far away and he closed up travelling smoothly in the straight.
Enjoying the step up to three and a half miles Braeside led going best two out, and ridden to assert approaching the last, the victor was pushed out towards the finish to account for Screaming Colours by three lengths.
Kennedy, winning the race for first time, said: "He travelled and jumped great and did it well. He loved that ground and the further the better for him. He jumps for fun and is a grand staying horse.
"The one worry I had coming here was fitness maybe, but he proved me wrong and did it well."
Elliott previously took this valuable prize in 2018 with the Davy Russell-partnered Out Sam.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Spades Are Trumps trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
