Egg refuses to be beaten
The Lady Fowler-trained Good Egg justified favourtism in the hunters chase at Down Royal when proving too strong in the finish for Bold Ali
The pair had it between them down the straight in the two-and-a-half mile event after jumping the third last upsides.
The 6/4 market leader started to edge ahead going to the last however and stayed on well in the closing stages for a two-and-a-half length victory under Ciaran Murphy.
"He did it very well and was entitled to on the form he had," said winning owner Daisy Duggan afterwards.
"He didn't like the ground, especially down the back as it was very tacky. He wants better ground."
The Foxhunters at Aintree was mentioned as a possible target for the winner.
