Veteran Classic winning jockey John Egan, who has recently taken out a trainers' license, registered his first win in the saddle since last July when steering the Joanna Morgan trained Dashing Duchess to win the Follow Dundalk On Facebook Handicap (div 1) at Dundalk this evening.
Egan, whose best season in Britain yielded 105 winners, needed to work hard on the daughter of Pilsudski eventually moving the six year old to the front close home to defeat Blue Ridge Lane
Following the win, Morgan stated “her back was wrong for a while and when we got that sorted the ground went against her! She'll probably come back here again and will go back hurdling when the ground improves a bit.
Egan's previous winner was on Salam Alaykum and that same horse became his first runner as a trainer at this venue on January 4.
