Kayce Dutton caused a 16/1 upset to win Cork's Follow Us On Twitter Maiden Hurdle today, scoring for owner/trainer Mags Mullins and her son jockey Danny Mullins.
The Ocovango five-year-old got first-run on 5/4 favourite Getaway Charlie on the run-in and held on to score by three-parts of a length.
Winning jockey Mullins later said “his form is nothing but disappointing so far and he was unlucky in point-to-points as nothing happened for him. I said to Mags that his run in Punchestown wasn't that bad as Wizard Of Oz was third in that race and finished a solid second in a Grade 2 race at Aintree afterwards.
“I thought that wasn't a bad run, he had a bit of grass, strengthened up and when I saw he was 50/1 this morning I thought he had a better chance than that.
“Three miles probably suited but he jumps quick enough that dropping to 2m4f could also be an option.”
Kayce John Dutton is a main character in Western drama television series Yellowstone.
