Double for Doyle as Cru scores
Eoin Doyle has his string in flying form and the Kilkenny handler registered a quick double when Grand Cru took the 1m6f handicap at Tramore.
Billy Lee did the steering and produced the Bahri gelding to take it up at the furlong pole.
He kept on gamely in the closing stages as the pack pushed him hard, recording a neck victory over Whitehead Lad
It was the third victory of the two-day meeting for Doyle, who had also struck with old favourite The Fonze on Friday night.
The winner was following up on a success at Wexford last month, on his first start for the yard.
"He's a grand horse and that's two from two for me now," said Doyle.
"He'll probably go hurdling now. He's rated 82 over hurdles so should be good enough to win one. He travelled well today and loves really good ground,"
The gelding is owned by Gemma Murphy, Doyle's wife.
