Dr Doocey gave bookmakers a bright start by making most to take the opening Glenview & Rathbarry Studs Mares Hunters Chase at Cork under Dinny Spillane (his third track winner but picked up a 3 day whip ban).
This one is owned and was bred by Rita Doocey and trained by Spillane's father, Seamus, who has a restricted licence.
Winner of three 'points' Dr Doocey was a first winner on the racecourse for Seamus who operates at Kilclare, Conna, Co. Cork.
