Trainer Adrian Maguire took the New Year's honours at Tramore today, winning the first race of 2014, the David Flynn Construction Maiden Hurdle, with Davinia's Tip
Ridden by Declan Queally, the point-to-point winning daughter of Presenting made virtually all and battled well when joined briefly by 5/4 favourite Enjoy Responsibly (for Davy Russell and Giggisntown House Stud) at the final flight, for a length and a quarter success.
Maguire later stated “that was great! She'll have a nice break after that as she came home drunk. But is as tough as nails!
“She got all the allowances but the handicapper won't see it that way; Declan gave her a super ride.”
