Logical Song turned the Grade B Paddy Power Cork Grand National Handicap Chase into a procession, scoring under Danny Mullins for his mother Mags.
The son of King's Theatre also landed some nice bets in the process. He was available at 16/1 this morning, but opened on-course at 10s, before going off a 7/1 chance in the colours of owner Daniel Furini.
Settled towards rear, he slowly crept his way into contention down the back straight, and was seventh at the fourth last fence.
He cruised through to lead two out, and soon shot clear, staying on strongly on the run-in to score by twelve lengths. Raz De Maree who won this race in 2012 and again last year, finished second under Donal McInerney for Gavin Cromwell, while 40/1 chance Undressed was another three lengths back in third for Phillip Enright and Michael Hourigan. Racing Pulse who was sent off the 5/2 favourite, disappointingly pulled up, while King's Song (9/2) could only manage seventh.
The winning handler said afterwards: "Danny was anxious to step up to the 3m 4f and even Daniel (Furini, owner), in Italy, was wondering was it too far for him but I said we'd ride him to get it (the trip) and see.
"He is so honest and is so genuine and I'm delighted with him and he jumped super. He always just stays and over a shorter trip something with more gears would get him, but he is great and has given us great fun.
"Daniel (Furini) has the mother and the family and he'll be delighted in Italy - he has his horses with George Williams in a stud farm in Kilkenny. I'm delighted to win a National and it opens up options now."
