Odds-on favourite Fleet Review brought up a double for Aidan and Donnacha O’Brien in the Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital EBF Maiden at the Curragh.
The War Front colt had the form to take this, and on outing number three he made the breakthrough, but not before being pressed hard by Goodthingstaketime A neck split them at the line.
Fleet Review and Goodthingstaketime left Freescape seven and a half lengths back in third.
"He had two decent runs and the nicer ground today suited. It's nice to get his head in front," said the winning rider.
"He travelled strong and they quickened up well. I'd say the second horse isn't too bad and we pulled well clear of the third.
"He has plenty of pace and travelled well so I'm not sure he needs further."
The earlier O'Brien victor was Ballet Shoes in the 1.45.
