After a double at Fairyhouse on Saturday, which included a winner for Gavin Cromwell, Conor McNamara was on the mark again today for the County Meath handler in the Ladbrokes Daily Odds Boosts Handicap Hurdle on Tokyo Getaway
This extended Punchestown three miler was all about stamina and Tokyo Getaway (5/1 into 7/2 on track) showed staying power in abundance to beat Nicole’s Milan and The Church Gate (11/4 favourite) by two and a half lengths and a length and three parts.
“I’m delighted with that as she deserved it. She’d been banging on the door and Conor gave her a peach," said Cromwell.
“She never really travelled. They went very quick and she didn’t jump the first two or three. She stuck to her game well. She’s not un-genuine, she just doesn’t travel that well.
“She can go for something similar and has the chasing option as well.
“Conor is riding with confidence and is riding well.”
