Cenotice was another easy wide-margin winner at Ballinrobe this afternoon when taking the Mulholland Bookmakers Maiden Hurdle for Noel Meade and Sean Flanagan.
The Phoenix Reach gelding was always to the fore and kicked on after the second last under Flanagan.
He established a healthy lead on the home bend and the 4/1 shot (15/2 this morning) coasted home on the run-in for a 12-length win.
The point-to-point winner had been placed in two bumpers and was brought down on his hurdling debut at Wexford last week.
"He jumped good and did everything right," said Meade.
"He was disappointing in bumpers but maybe he has turned the corner now jumping and on better ground.
"It's the owner's first winner at his local track. Martin (McHale) is the machinery man (sponsor of the Mayo National here at the track on May 28th).”
