Carrolls good run continues
Tim Carroll was continuing his good run after he landed the opening Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick today aboard the Noel Meade trained Gloonan HIll.
Carroll who was close up for most hit the front after the third last and kept on well to hold off the efforts of 2/1 favourite Mary's Little Vic by two and half lengths.
Winning trainer Meade said afterwards: "The better ground really helped him today and he had some nice form to win."
"It was great for young Tim [Carroll], he seems to be getting it together and I really think he's going places. We've always thought a lot of him and hopefully he keeps going forward."
"We'll go for a handicap next and the long term plan would be to go over fences. He doesn't like the soft ground at all."
