Tom Weekes
Captain back on song
Tom Taaffe's Glenfinn Captain got back to winning ways with a confidence boosting win in the featured Wilderness Chase at Clonmel today.
Ridden by Barry Geraghty, the son of Alderbrook led before the second last fence, eventually proving 13 lengths too strong for Justpourit
Afterwards a relieved Taaffe reported "Glenfinn Captain went through all of last season with one novice chase win despite having a rating of 135. We'll play away with him in simple races next."
He added "Glenfinn Castle is lucky to be alive as he nearly died following a very bad bout of colic in January '07. It probably took him a year and a bit to properly overcome it and I'm delighted to win with him again."
