Irish Lullaby (9/1) turned recent form with 30/100 favourite Nusret to win Sligo's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden today, on a good day for winning jockey Nathan Crosse and his brother Shane.
Nathan Crosse steered Irish Lullaby to a head win over the keen-running Nusret, who had beaten the winner over five lengths at Cork last month, with the race coming two hours after State Of Rest's success in Longchamp's Prix Ganay, for trainer Joseph O'Brien and jockey Shane Crosse.
At Sligo, older sibling Nathan Crosse quipped “my brother had a Group 1 winner in France so this is my Group 1!”
He added “I was very happy with her. She’s a lovely big filly with a big stride on her. She’s still plenty green and is big enough to be going around these small tracks so there should be plenty of improvement in her, and she’d gallop all day.
“I’ve ridden her work in Mrs Harrington’s and all she does is gallop. I was off the bridle a long way out and she kept finding and finding, she was very gutsy in fairness to her.”
