The Denis Hogan-trained Bronze River asserted in the closing stages to run out a cosy winner of the concluding seven-furlong handicap at Dundalk this evening.
Sean Bowen settled in behind the leaders before coming to press the leaders two furlongs from home on the 10/1 shot.
There were plenty in with chances coming to the furlong pole but Bronze River got on top inside the final furlong and was a convincing winner at the line as he scored by two lengths from Indiana Grey
Bronze River had won three times in England and was recording his first success since being bought for just 6,000gns by Hogan at the horses-in-training sales in late October.
Bowen said: "He was running in good races up here, he was just breaking slowly and finishing strongly.
"Today, he jumped well and settled which helped and he was bang on there.
"He was very tough and didn't idle in front, and stayed galloping all the way to the line. He's been going well at home.
"Denis' horses are in good form, he had a good Christmas festival in Limerick so they are bouncing."
