Bolger & Manning score with Tarcisio
There was an exciting finish to the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden for 2yo colts and geldings with Tarcisio for Jim Bolger & Kevin Manning just getting the better of both Alkazim and the even money favourite Prophesy by a short head and a head.
The winner, who was sent off at 10/1, was having his second start here after finishing a close up sixth behind Greek Canyon in what looked a weak maiden over six furlong at Cork just last month.
High Stool Lady the dam of the winner, had very poor form on the track failing to win on five starts on the level for John Oxx, before joining the Michael Hourigan yard where she again failed to win in seven attempts over obstacles.
The runner-up Alkazim for David Wachman & Wayne Lordan was bumped by the winner in the last few strides but after a stewards enquiry the judges made no alteration to the result.
The well supported favourite Prophesy for Aidan O’Brien & Colm O'Donoghue hung baldy towards the rail inside the last furlong and that certainly didn't help his cause.
Winning trainer Jim Bolger was not present for the win as he is in attendance at Wexford Park to see his beloved Wexford take on Westmeath in the football and Kilkenny in the hurling.
