Biscuit goes 1 better a year on
Willie Mullins completed a short-priced double in the final two races with The Biscuit Club landing the Thoroughbred Trail (Pro/Am) Flat Race under Patrick to add to the earlier success for the stable with the Paul Townend ridden Quel Esprit
Supporters of The Biscuit Club (4/9) would have got a fright early in the straight but when Van Wyck went wide, Patrick was quick to secure his position along the rail and from there the son of Supreme Leader galloped on relentlessly to beat the aforementioned rival by four and a half lengths.
Willie said: "I was giving out to Patrick for leaving it too late on him in this race last year when he was second to Dunguib but we've all seen how he's turned out. This fellow done it nicely there, he handles the ground and he is a big chasing sort."
The Biscuit Club completed a good day for odds-on backers at Punchestown, L'Ami (4/11), Dunguib (2/13) and Quel Esprit (4/9) also prevailing. That four-timer would have paid just over 9/4.
