Big Bad Lily dominates her rivals
With the blinkers back on today Big Bad Lily stormed to victory in Cork’s five furlong apprentice handicap at Cork under Ben Curtis.
The handicapper would have been delighted to see fully six horses spread across the track in with a chance with one hundred yards to go.
The 9/2 favourite finished best of all though to score by three parts of a length from Thats A Fret (10/1) and a neck from Missile Command also 10/1.
Successful trainer Augustine Leahy said: “She will run at Tipperary on Friday night under a mandatory penalty.
“She deserved her win.”
The first seven home in the 13-runner field were only covered by around two lengths. Elusive Dancer was supported from 20/1 to 12/1 on course to quick Willie McCreery a quick-fire double after winning the second race, but he finished 12th.
