Bay outstays the opposition
Killary Bay was on the pace throughout in the Athbhlian Faoi Mhaise Daoibh Flat Race and he showed a good attitude to keep going in the conditions to score under Nina Carberry.
Ridden to lead before the straight, Killary Bay (5/2 into 2/1) galloped on resolutely in the final quarter mile to see off the easy to back Dapper Dan by a length and a half.
Charlie Swan trains the winner for Mrs Paul Shanahan and he was scoring here on his fourth outing. Gamble of this event, Ask A Friend (5/1 in the morning into 11/4) finished fifth.
Swan's wife Carol said: "He goes on any ground and will make a nice chaser some day. Nina gave him a great ride."
