Gowran trainer James Barcoe recorded his first winner since November of 2014, as his Allez Kal came home a comfortable winner of the Roches Feeds Handicap Hurdle.
Fourth to Gracemount on her handicap debut at Punchestown last month, the daughter of Kalanisi followed-up on that effort by finishing second to Dromore Lad on her latest start at Fairyhouse.
Available at 10/1 last night, the bay victor opened on-course at 6s, before going off a 13/2 chance under Cathal Landers.
Settled towards rear, the Yvonne Hennessy owned six-year-old made steady progress from six out, and went third as they entered the home straight for the final time.
She shot to the front before the second last and soon went clear, going on to score easily by fourteen lengths. Irish Mustard (20s to 16s) finished second under Liam Quinlan for Pat Colville, while Sir Ector (25/1) was four lengths back in third, with Ricky Doyle in the saddle for Nicole McKenna. Cowboy Des Long (16/1) completed the placings another length back in fourth. No Pressure Pat and Goodthynemilan (25s last night and from 7s on-course) were sent off the 6/1 joint-favourites. The former pulled up, while the latter was seventh.
Barcoe said afterwards: "On her run the last day she deserved her turn. She met a nice horse the last day and I'd have been disappointed if she wasn't there or thereabouts today. She is only starting to get the hang of things and has learned to jump better."
