Queen Alphabet is an interesting contender as she races on the Flat in the Vaughanshoes.ie EBF Fillies Handicap at Ballinrobe this evening.
Peter Fahey 's seven-year-old boasts a rating of 132 over hurdles but is racing off a mark of just 70, the same figure as when she won at Roscommon back in May.
She subsequently disappointed on her chasing bow at Wexford last week, but a return to the level makes her of interest here. Sea Of Mystery will try to break his duck at the fourth attempt in the Vaughanshoes.ie EBF Maiden.
The son of Sea The Stars held his own in some fair maidens last year and can be expected to step forward from his Leopardstown comeback, with his trainer John Oxx now finally off the mark for the season.
The Currabeg handler also fields top-weight Aimhirgin Lass in the Vaughanshoes.ie Kate Appleby Apprentice Handicap.
Jim Culloty has a rare Flat runner in this event and his Knockmaole Boy is also one for the shortlist.
The Vaughanshoes.ie Clarks Claiming Maiden is the opening event and the Jessica Harrington-trained English Pale appears to be the one to beat.
His stable companion Escape Paradise won at Clonmel before making the frame in a better Navan race, with those efforts making her one to watch in the Vaughanshoes.ie Jennings Meats Handicap.
She has no less than three last-start winners - Sister Blandina Papal Motel and No Biggie - to contend with, though. Whats The Plot keeps progressing and attempts to supplement last month's Wexford triumph in the Vaughanshoes.ie Ecco Handicap, while decent jumpers Solita Swamp Fox and Shantou Ed do battle in the Vaughanshoes.ie Gabor Maiden, which brings the seven-race fixture to a close.
