Ballagh caused a 12/1 upset to win the concluding Flower Hill (Pro/Am) Bumper at Navan today for trainer Charlie Swan and jockey Nina Carberry.
The son of Shantou was making it fourth time lucky in bumpers and battled gamely on the run-in for a three parts of a length win over Lord Scoundrel
Quevega's brother Vivega made his debut in the race for trainer Willie Mullins and despite going off the even money favourite, never threatened to win and eventually finished well held in third.
Swan was absent for his winner but Carberry later stated “he was really tough, loved the heavy ground and stays really well. He probably wants further and he'll make a nice jumping horse.”
