Aodhan May completed a hat-trick for the father and son team of Charles and Philip Byrnes when staying on strongly up the closing hill to take the BoyleSports Daily Extra Places Handicap Hurdle at Navan.
The Vinnie Roe mare won a handicap chase at Wexford last spring and has really blossomed over hurdles recently winning here over 2m6f and three furlongs further at Punchestown.
The 100/30 favourite went up a combined 17lb for those wins but coped with this drop back to 2m4f.
Chief market rival Chosen Diamond held a slight advantage over the final flight but Aodhan May proved the stronger on the run-in keeping on strongly in the closing stages to score by two and a half lengths.
Charles Byrnes said, "She's so genuine, she goes on the ground and she's brilliant to jump.
“He probably has her now after today but it was great to get the three anyway.
“She'll keep going as long as this ground lasts. She'll have a long summer's break.”
