Harry Rogers recorded his third win of the week as his Irish Reel landed a gamble to win the Meadowview Stables Handicap and provide her rider Chris Hayes with a double on the card.
The 5yo daughter of Redback has been running consistently well this season and has been placed seven times in 2012 without getting her head in front until today.
Having opened at 5/1 this morning with Paddy Powers, she opened at just 11/4 on course. She did touch 3/1 but was backed into 7/4 clear favourite at the off.
She made all the running and responded well when ridden over a furlong out to score by a length and a quarter at the line.
Early morning 11/4 joint favourite Circle drifted out to 5/1 at the off from his opening show on-course of 10/3 and he finished second under Joseph O’Brien for his father Aidan.
Rogers, who won with Solo Performer yesterday and Cheval Rouge on Tuesday, said afterwards: "She was entitled to that. I thought I was being hard on her but it just goes to show you.
"She was well and she liked the ground. She will have a little break now and may come back for a race at Roscommon on Monday week."
"I left the other one at home today! (Cheval Rouge who beat Irish Reel into second twice recently)"
Hayes was recording his third double of the week after Roscommon on Tuesday and Bellewstown yesterday.
