Another Navan double for Russell
Tharawaat was left clear by the fall of Western Charmer three out when possibly travelling better to beat his only other rival, Flying Windsor by a distance in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Novice Chase at Navan.
The success of the Gigginstown House Stud-owned gelding was completing a double for his rider Davy Russell who had earlier won on For Bill
Winning trainer Gordon Elliott said: "I think the blinkers made a difference. He was sweeter today.
"Davy was very happy with him. He got an entry in the four-miler and I'll have to talk to Michael and Eddie (O'Leary, the owners) and see what the story is.
"He is in a few of the handicaps as well so we'll see what happens."
