Ger Lyons and Colin Keane completed a 64/1 Fairyhouse double when the first-time blinkered Chocolate Diamond made all in the Premier Jumps Winter Festival November 29th–30th Claiming Race.
Chocolate Diamond, who'd worn a hood and cheek-pieces in the past, added to the earlier gains for Glenburnie with Buenos Y Bobos in the first.
In a somewhat similar scenario to the win for his stable companion Crafted Mastery at Gowran earlier in the month, Chocolate Diamond bossed them from start to finish with favourite Zanka in pursuit.
He burnt that one off in the final two furlongs and then kept up the gallop to account for Trade Marked and Crecora by a length and three parts and half a length.
Lyons' brother Shane stated: "He's only growing into himself and he'll make a nice jumper. I'm delighted for the (RMS Diamond Racing) syndicate from North Co. Dublin. They did well last year with Mordanmijobsworth and Angela's Dream.
"It was a good tactical ride by Colin and it's nice to see the instructions going to plan." (AM & EM)
